CSiBridge es un programa de Elementos Finitos para el Análisis y Diseño de puentes de Hormigón, Metálicos y Mixtos y de una gran variedad de estructuras, sometidos a acciones de tipo Estático y/o Dinámico.El programa CSiBridge es una variación moderna del programa original SAP2000, del que conserva su motor de cálculo, que ha sido ampliada y actualizada al cálculo de puentes, por la empresa CSI-Computers & Structures, fundada en 1975. El programa permite realizar el Cálculo y el Diseño de Puentes y todo tipo de estructuras constituidas por diferentes materiales como: hormigón, acero, aluminio, acero conformado en frío, etc., utilizando para el Diseño multitud de Normativas internacionales. El programa permite realizar Análisis Estáticos y Dinámicos, del tipo Lineal o No Lineal, utilizando en el caso de los modelos Dinámicos, Espectros de Respuesta o Time History (Historia en el Tiempo), pudiendo incorporarse elementos Frame, Shell o Sólid y pudiendo añadir al modelo: cables, tendones de pretensado, muelles, amortiguadores, aisladores, disipadores, secciones variables, etc. Con relación al Análisis No Lineal el programa permite obtener la Curva de Capacidad de una estructura mediante un Análisis Pushover, generando rótulas plásticas en los extremos de las pilas del puente, así como la Curva de Demanda para cada emplazamiento, determinando en ratio de Demanda/Capacidad, lo que permite estudiar los diferentes mecanismos de fallo de la estructura, siguiendo las Normativas; ATC40, FEMA356 o FEMA440, implementadas en el programa. El programa también puede determinar siguiendo el procedimiento definido en CALTRANS la validez del puente, en el caso de exista una falla activa que cruce el eje del puente. El autor de este libro ha sido usuario y profesor del programa tanto de SAP2000, desde la década de los años 80 del siglo pasado, como de CSiBridge desde su aparición y animado por las clases impartidas del mismo, las últimas en formato “on-line”, se ha decidido a poner a disposición de los lectores, estudiantes de ingeniería y arquitectura y profesionales, un libro que comprenda, los aspectos teóricos de su utilización de una manera gráfica y muy intuitiva, siguiendo el proceso usual de generación de un modelo de elementos finitos con el programa.
